I just started watching C5 Michael Jackson programme, after a couple of minutes the screen changed to "The scheduled programme is not available on freesat" I've not had that happen before, is this normal, I don't watch C5 very often.

Do you mean Sky?
Freesat or freesatfromsky?
I have Ch5 as an additional channel on an old Sky box - no card.
Working fine at the momentWe all evolve - get on with it0 -
Freesatfromsky additional channel with no card. Now it's working fine on C5, perhaps on the last programmes it was only watchable if you had bought the £20 card???0

There appears to have been an error by Five on this particular programme as Sky and Virgin subscribers in some areas also got this message for the first 15 minutes or so, BUT it would appear that programme providers have realised that broadcasting from Astra 2D in FTA does not restrict the reception enough for their liking and Five have prepared this message to inform viewers that broadcast in the clear will only be on more restricted means such as Sky FTV (i.e. with viewing card), Virgin Cable and Freeview.
Broadcasters in other countries (e.g. Italy) block some programmes on FTA satellite with similar messages when rights issues apply (in Italy particularly football).0
