1TB storage for £200 inc VAT

But if it's RAID, then you won't get the full TB, will you, cos then it's reduced depending on what RAID you do? And don't most new motherboards handle RAID 1 or 0, without the need for extra bits? It's all getting a bit technical for me...0

You can simply put them together using RAID0 which effectively combines all the hard disk as a single entity. Links are a man's best friends.com0

Yes you could, but if any one disc fails you will lose *all* your data over every disc. Raid 0+1 will avoid this but you will lose some storage.0 -

The average machine will have two IDE channels with two drives on each. most people would want an optical drive in there so only need three hard drives.
I have a pci card that gives me 4 extra IDE channels :j
+ 50,000,000 gigaquads of data - just ask google to store it for you, sure they have space

I personally don't see what's wrong with the post. Many people have plenty of spares bays in their PCs and are capable of using this without further purchases to reach the dizzy heights of 1 TB of storage.
Not everyone has SATA so these drives are usefull and reasonably priced. They're not an absolute bargain admittedly but not bad all the same.
It's just a shame to see people on here being so damned negative instead of just ignoring what they're not interested in. Manners much come expensive these days as there seem to be fewer and fewer of them about.
Honestly, if you're going to correct someone's spelling, ensure YOURS is correct! Doesn't have quite the same impact otherwise....0 -
Fair point on the spelling. In my defense this was a case of a double-tap on the same key rather than knowing the difference between they're / their / there and the like.
Apologies for not checking my _typing_ quality.
I will edit my original post.
I admit it's childish to complain about other people's spelling, but the main issue I have with the responses from others is the approach taken to a generally useful post.... and that's all I have to say about that.0 -

Fair point though. I'll watch my fat little fingers more carefully from now on.

A decent sized HTPC could easily have that in it; mine has 2 x 300gb & 2 x 250gb hard drives and I'm running out of space already!biglugs wrote::T :rotfl: LMAO :rotfl::T
Not a useless post at all - I just can't think for now what I would use 1TB of space for? But if I did want it £200 is a pretty good price.EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0
