Not certain this is the one your after so i'd check with them first but a bit of googling:
    http://www.heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk/myson-trv-way-replacement-head-p-331.html

    £10.49 with delivery.

Probably not much more for an entire new TRV ..just less hassle.

Keystone...i take it you mean cap the vent (22mm speedfit), bung feed (rubber bung, cork, carrot etc). ...but really tricky access to our header tank so haven't attempted as of yet. Plus only really relevant if gravity-fed non-combi..or is there an alternative trick with combis.

"I removed the TRV last night.........."

so i assumed that changing a trv is no big deal.
ahh..i read it as meaning just the head of it rather than the whole thing..i see how you read it though :)

Thanks for all of your replys. I've just taken the TRV back off and looked at it next to some others and it appears that the spring that controls the bit of plastic that pushes the pin into the valve has gone (hope you can follow that). Any ideas whether this can be fixed?

    Thanks again.

You cant fix it - replace the whole head.

    That looks like the one.

Actually I didn't mean that. However, there are circumstances where a similar procedure can be used but such really isn't something a DIYer should undertake. If it goes wrong it will go really, really wrong!

I think there's a terminology issue here. It was clear to me from the first post that the OP just removed the head.

But practically speaking the head prolly wouldn't fit the OP's Myson valve and the chances are that the physical size wouldn't quite fit the existing pipework.

    Cheers

  • Thanks a lot for all of your help, it's really appreciated. I've ordered a new head from heating controls online which should fix the problem.
