Any advice for my son

mate of mine wrote off 3 parked cars, which was his fault. His insurance paid out and he still had about 6 months to go on it, he brought a new car. They insured that car until the end of the policy and he didnt pay much for the change. Your son should be able to do the same. Hopefully0

ask the insurance if you guys can buy the car back. They may sell it to you at around 10% of the payout. So lets say 300 quid. Your better off buying it no matter what, you can ebay the car and get more than 300 quid EASY! Or you can find a cheap garage get a repair done. It will definitely work out cheaper than buying a new car.0 -
Thanks for that but the insurance company sent out some papework and on that it said that they do not allow people to buy the cars back if written off. It doesn't seem right as they will probably seel it to someone else so I will suggest to son that he asks anyway.0

they are allowed to do this, the reason some insurances do this is because they have pre agreements with salvage companies such as copart, ask them who they will sell it to you, they will tell this information. However the car will sell for a lot more than 10% of the pay out.0
