Yeah, we found that out in Italian the other night, we were doing fun stuff about xmas and traditions. They don't traditionally eat meat on xmas eve (which is the day they give presents and stuff), and the traditional meal is eels. The traditional meal on the 6th, St. Nicholas Day, is broad beans! But, they have two present giving days for kids, xmas and the 6th January. So I guess for kids it's good, not so much for adults.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    Morning

Ive had a good awful weekend, sorry but I need a hug (again)
Lovely day in London (done on the cheap, well as cheap as could be) freezing freezing and couldn't wait to get back to the car to warm up.. No heating rather strange
rattling noise about 30 mins into journey home, oil light on and bang, car blows up smoke pouring out. Pitch black, freezing and OH has to walk down the motorway to phone recovery (as sensible me didn't have any grrr). DD is screaming, its so cold and the lorry's are thundering past as we stand in the snow on the hard shoulder
£135 to be taken off the motorway where he then dumps us in a lay by and I try and get car recovered. No joy and TBH car is !!!!ed so no point. Empty car, get taxi the 5 miles to station £60 train fair home...
Wake at 2am this morning after only getting home at 11pm and can't breath...Taxi to A&E where I have been poked and prodded for the last 9 hours. I have a viral thing as they put it...technical hey and the 2 hours standing in the cold probably made it worse.

So yesterday cost me around £300 and I now have no car.....think that will go down as one of the worst days in my books

    nearly Christmas though hey!
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
    Finally Debt Free...

I'd read that they eat a lot of fish at Christmas - apparently the prices in the fish markets shoot up! Not touching eel though, the thought of it makes me feel funny  Hmm lucky kids! My birthday is just after Christmas but that usually means joint presents or people forget :rotfl:

I like the taste of eel, but don't really like the texture. I've only tried it a couple of times, the first time when I was in Germany on a school exchange, and I was only about 14...was a bit alarmed when I was told what I was eating!
