Wow niksyg, that must have been some coat! Well done :T Maybe I need to get around to sorting out my wardrobe! Keep putting off selling things on ebay as Ifind it a bit scary!
I also need to be brave enough to use my sewing machine on the things I don't want to sell but might need tweaked a bit!
I have been really lucky this year and have made nearly £200 just by selling clothes on ebay...have run out of stuff to sell now though, so may have to ask mum to bring down any of her old clothes when she visits in March.....:rotfl:Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -

Sold a coat on ebay yesterday for £63, but using money to pay off debt rather than adding to my clothes spend allowance... :A
:T What a great price for a coat - do you mind me asking which brand it was?
£2.99 to declare on a new top - InWear pure silk, midnight blue, sheer with panels, and balloon sleeves. It is very flattering although is not a brand I know much about. It just felt so lovely on that I had to get it!
Also, would appreciate some advice. I have an 80s fancy dress party in march for a friends 30th. I'd like to get the outfit out of clothes budget... only thing is I've got no idea of what to get!! *confused* If anybody has any outfit suggestions that would be much appreciated.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Great news,I saved £85 today:j:j:j:j
bad news ...to save £85 I had to spend £15 of my £100:(
I bought an Alex evening skirt in black with black sequins round the hem(reduced from £100 to £15).
as we go ballroom dancing a lot it will be very useful with different tops(therefore saving me more money on buying more skirts:j:j)
well it sounds logical to me:p0 -
p.s.
even better news I was okay at the dentists and needed no fillings:beer:0 -

How about a 'kids from fame' kind of outfit, involving legwarmers (lots of markets sell them in neon bright colours which would look good), probably some sweatbands and a loose sweatshirt (off the shoulder if you can manage it!! - maybe chop up one from a charity shop!)
Or maybe a Madonna circa Desperately Seeking Susan?? lace gloves, beauty spot, lots of necklaces, lots of layers?? Bet you could find some good stuff for that look in a charity shop.
Some friends went to an 80's party recently, one went as Freddie Kruger and another went as a Rubix Cube (basically a box with coloured paper).I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
I swear I am never letting my Mum take me shopping again  because I always spend money!
I have to declare:
£2 striped bra
£1 striped knickers x 2 = £2
£2 checked bra
£1 checked knickers
£2 spotty bra
£1 spotty knickers x 2 = £2
£2.50 pack of shortie knickers
Total £13.50
I was so surprised to find bras in my size in a sale that I got rather carried away."All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -

Not an 80's theme, but I was once invited to a fancy dress party & only remembered about it at the last minute so had no time & as usual no money for an outfit.I wore my pyjamas, knickers over the top superhero style,& a sleep eye mask & went as Narcoleptic girl.:DDMP member 343 :T

Unless I'm very much mistaken 80's is back in. It was very bright colours, lots of spots, frilly shirts (new romantics), ra-ra skirts, lots of very bright plastic jewellry

I think you're right Butti
I've been so busy catching up on this thread, I haven't checked ebay to see if I won my trackie bottoms or if some-one swooped in in the last hour... hang on, back in a mo..
£5.20 to declare (almost disappointed I won them, I've broken 0 now, it's jsut gonna get tougher! And I'm 50p over my monthly budget! If I also win the swimming costume, I'm in big trouble) But buying only what I need - wow! That's a new one for me
*Edit - ooh, I actually only spent £5.20 so only 20p over budget. And if I actually keep going to the gym, I'll get my money's worth very quicklyJan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
