Just caught up with this thread after getting in from work. I apologise if I upset any non-Christians with my blunt sarcasm. After all no-one should stand between a person and their need to spend money in the shops, 24/7/365.
It would be interesting though to see what the thought police would do to someone who complained about a muslim closing his shop on a Friday, or a Jew closing their shop on a Saturday just because of their religious beliefs. No doubt the boys in blue would be paying you a visit pretty smartly if you thought those thoughts (which I don't, Plod, honest). You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Goldbergs in Edinburgh which was a big department store with a great toy section on the top floor always shut on a Saturday because of their religion. Mind you saying that they did go out of business.0

I went in there yesterday and its a closing down sale in the loosest sense.Reminded me of a Sports Direct closing down sale that happens every other year.
All the items that are 50% off on the web are reduced by that amount and most other stuff seemed normal price. There were a few bits of rubbish with about £2 off and I think board games were reduced abit more. But things like thomas,Night Garden and sylvanian families were much the same as in any other shop.
I bet all the high price stuff like trains and scalextric that were upstairs got moved to another store.0 -

And then getting the stuff from 'the counter' is another wait. I would only choose to go there if I have vouchers really.
the other thing with Toysrus is that their aftersales care is rubbish.
They won't exchange or refund an item if you decide later that you don't want it, nor will they exchange if you receive two of the same, as happened by my niece.
I wouldn't go there as a matter of principle now, I had a pushchair that was 6 months and a day old and the footstrap broke, they refused to do anything, saying all they could do is send it to manufacturer for repair which would cost me. I had hardly used the pushchair as it was just used to take my 18 month old to the train station and back 3 times a week.0
