I think we were on crossed lines, sorry! Yes I've been in the Liverpool store and no signs of them being in trouble. Hope not anyway.

I've always thought it daft why they dont even open the Sunday before xmas.
That's typical of Christians isn't it? So inconsiderate of them to spoil Christmas by observing the Sabbath.

    Scaremongering?? LMAO.

Anyhow, I've no idea, I cannot see why, if they are renovating, they would sell everything off at 50% - they would ship it back to their warehouse as everything I get from their website has prices on so they must sell stock from their stores.

As I say, they have sold everything from the upstairs section and that is now closed off.

They could well be closing stores as they come up for their leases to be renewed, but as I say, this is the only toy shop in town, except Tesco which does not have a huge selection, just one short aisle.

To me it makes no sense other than it being in trouble. It is opposite poundland, it is not like it is in quiet part of town no-one sees. It is always packed when I go in there.

They say they are not in trouble but why sell everything off at 50%?? I know a lot of stuff is discounted but there are some things that are never reduced by that amount. Makes you wonder I suppose.

  • I hope they stay open as this is a really good shop. Always good bargains for the kiddies.
Also they don't open on Sunday as it's a Christian shop and maybe more people should do the same and stay at home on Sunday spending some good old quality time with their families?

I totally agree and I'm not some raving religious fanatic, just someone who appreciates good old fashioned family values.

Until this thread I had no idea that the shop had any religious connections but on Saturday I noticed the lovely Nativity scene in the Nottingham store window and commented to the staff on how nice it was to see it amongst all the hype!

    Happy Christmas everyone.
