    oh fluff it is freezing!!!

    I have 3 layers and am going to put my dressing gown on the top.. I think all but the boots for the girls have now arrived.. and i am going to just have a speedy look at my littlewoods catalogue see if there are any last minute bargains to be picked up for DS2 primarily but DS3 as well. I can't remember if I got DS3 a dressing gown so I'll check that out later.. I think it was those which were sold out in his size everywhere.

    I have a CD to buy for my mother and maybe some jars or bags to decant sweets into.

    I need to get my diary up to date and write a shopping list to thrust at DD1 once I have booted her out of bed. And I need to catch up on the laundry which is starting to take over the world.. my 2 pairs of trousers are in the dryer and my other pair of leggings.. so I need to get those dry ASAP.

    Congrats Julie! You lucky thing, you!!!

    I have the last few bits to wrap for the family and very little left to do for the children.. though I keep unearthing bits! I need some bags to sort everyones stuff individually too.. DS1, GF, Jacob, Mother, SD, Sis 1, Sis 2 and Tabitha... oh.. and OH.. 9 bags.. right.. *adds to shopping list*

    Fruit and veg I need.. I don't trust tesco to deliver decent stuff!

    Off to make a start on the kitchen.. in my dressing gown, 1 wool dress, 1 long sleeve t-shirt 1 vest top ...

  • Right, I really need to do a HHS. Crafty, are you up for that or are you up to date and enjoying the hols? I have a 2,500 word essay that I would like to get done before Christmas. I was meant to do it at the weekend but as I was poorly...no chance.
    Sorry SSL I've prob missed joining you.
    Up to date?? You jest. OK TBH I had ground to a halt and keep finding things to do 'first'.

    It's been snowing all morning - we must have about six or seven inches by now (at least -I was never any good at guesstimating) I need to go to a food shop at some point.

    I'm out for xmas meal so most of this week's list won't apply but will go and check it - I must do something constructive.:o

    * Rant *

    HHC abandoned. It's cold here. This is the second winter without skirting board. We have a cellar so you can imagine how much heat/money we're wasting as there are places I can see down into the cellar. I am going to book a joiner to get this finished - I don't care if DH goes mad. I'm freezing. Also, we have no radiator in the kitchen and I can see the outside world through round the sides of the back door. I think waiting two years is enough!

    * Rant over! *
    :D
    Your HHC will keep you nice and warm, but you definitely need to fix both of those problems. If DH complains, point out to him that it's costing you a fortune in heating. It's probably also worth insulating the cellar (lag the boards from underneath between the joists) which can be done very cheaply. Insulation is usually on special offer in the new year... which reminds me, I need to find out whether my old company are doing those nice vouchers again this year, and if so try to get hold of some of you lot!

    I've taken my neighbours' card over and told them that I'm off tomorrow... and that as they've put their car in the road rather than the drive, they might want to move it before I leave, as it's nicely in line fo rme to skid into if I slip coming out of the drive! Need to decide what to do about today's waxing appointment. The lady who runs the salon has told me that her husband can pick me up from the end of the road, but I think I'd rather go myself. So this afternoon will clearly be spent digging out the drive!

    I've shifted all the snow that was on the car, and emptied the junk out of the boot. One load of washing is in...

    Better get back downstairs and start getting things tidied up and put away. I'm going to need to be organised in the morning.
