I just wanted to pop in and ask Why do people who live out in the sticks INSIST ON HAVING NAMES instead of numbers? Just to make matters worse they HIDE THEM AS FAR FROM THE ROAD AS POSSIBLE!! These are the same people who moan the most when their parcels are not delivered on time! :mad:

Possibly because, as in my case, the house has been there 200 years and has never been assigned a number!0

It's because we who can afford to live in 'the sticks' don't use numbers, it's so uncouth. They are for Council estates and poor people.

You should also be able to afford to put the name of your house near the side of the road then 0

I would make it the law that every residential address display its house number or name at its boundary in letters of a specific size. It is a nightmare. Even on residential streets,there are some !!!!!!!s who dont have a number on their front doors or gate ! At night,its bad news.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Exactly! It can add 20 mins to EACH delivery when you have to drive up & down ytying to find them!!0

Yup. Nothing worse than getting to an emergency, and having to crawl along a street shining a torch at doors looking for numbers....Fight Crime : Shoot Back.

It's the same in any industry. People come into our shop on the iciest, coldest day of the year (e.g. today) and complain because we are out of stock of hats an gloves. Gawd. They have had since September to prepare themselves! :rolleyes:0
