just some advice please - I used £10 voucher in tesco yesterday - so does that mean i should go online and make an extra CC payment for it like NOW so its done or should I keep a mental note and add it to whatever extra I pay at the end of the month. also when I total these figures do I need to include my minimum payments and then add on the interest...........aghhhhhh it all gets so complicated when ur blonde???

It does get very confusing!! I've been waiting until all my CC statements come, working out how much I've reduced the balances by, and taking that off my total debt. I then post the total paid on here each month. Other people post each payment they make, which i was very tempted to do but I would just get in a muddle :)
If you want to make an extra payment I would have thought you can do it whenever you want, I often pay off extra little bits through the month after my direct debits have gone out
Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon ....

thanks for that - think i'll do the same - post the balances that my CCs have actually come down by after the minimum payments have gone out and then keep a mental note of any extra cash via the £10 extra a day in march challenge and then aim to pay that off my CC balance as well as an extra. have to dig out my loan stuff tho I know i pay around £200 a month but how much of that goes back on as interest i've no idea!! just found out i'm exempt from council tax tho as i'm a student hooray so thats an extra £80 a month I can chuck at the CCs! they'll be gone in no time at this rate ;-)

All updated again and there are some nice amounts paid off! and some very nice percentages as well

Seeing as the DWP (in their infinite wisdom NOT) have decided to change the day I am paid my Incapacity Benefit  I will not know where I stand until Friday this week *sigh* and then I may bury my CC in the garden or give it to the dog to play with :rotfl:

If I can it'll be a good whack from september last year which was when I started the course but i'm not going to hold my breath -IF i do get reimbursed tho it'll be at least £500!!! be awesome if I can! I can't believe I didn't know I was exempt - in all the time i spent with the financial advisor in the coll working out what grants etc I'd be entitled to no one ever mentioned i'd be exempt form council tax. Thanks so much to the MS forums for making me check it out!!!

Have you done a snowball to prioritise which debt to pay first (the highest apr basically) and to find out your debt free date? Its very motivating.

Great to have you on board and good luck. :)

Thanks for that. Just done my snowball and have ditched going for the little debts first. Makes more sense to go for the stupidly high APR's first. DFD now April 2012 :j

Think I'll post my update once a month, otherwise I'll just get confused!! Doesn't take much :rotfl:

Wish I'd found MSE sooner then perhaps I'd be DF now. Still, onwards & upwards. Roll on April 2012, now where have I put my trainers???
