 the 3 little Luxors were 30 months apart so once I got to about 20 weeks I couldn't have carried the toddler (just over 2 years old) any distance even if I wanted to.
In fact, our toddler buggy mysteriously 'broke' about a month before the next baby was due :whistle:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Went into town (Aberdeen BA) for a moisture mask from no7 and spotted the massive 75% sale that is amazing...i got the ultimate no 7 collection vanity case which included the moisture mask plus lots of other no 7 things too for the same price as one MM would have cost me.
It was down to £15 in the sale from £60....The only thing missing was the P and P but that is ok, everything else was in it so i was happy. I had a look and went round again and it suddenly appeared so dunno if it was the last one or if someone had changed thier mind and put it back.
I forgot my AC tho doh which is a crime lol, so just gonna get the points added on later as SA validated my receipt0 -
i took my 2 and half year old who normally walks in the pushchair just due to the fact it was in a way easier than her getting trampeled on and she would probably get in the way more if she was walking than the puchchair
just looking on ebay... funny when you see the boots stuff, and when they state 'unwanted christmas gift' then show a picture of the item with the expensive price label on... i normally take prices off when i give gifts..
and when you look at there other items they have lots of other unwanted gifts from boots0 -
I am surely not the only person to have bought something at 50% off, returned it and bought it back and 75% off. Possibly, the only person to have owned up to it. In fact, I thought about doing this with 2 items I had bought in Monsoon, and someone on here posted she frequently does that. I don't see what the problem is.
It was quite simple. When I collected my hatbox, I asked the SA what would happen if I decided I did not want it. She told me I would get a refund and it would go on the shelf. I said could I do that, and she said yes of course I could.
Hi dollywops
I buy stuff and return it all the time!! For example if I buy items in Next or M&S and it goes in the sale - I buy it again in the sale and then return it with my full priced receipt for a refund! (common sense)
I have never bought something and asked a SA to refund it and put it through again at the cheaper price - I don't see anything wrong with you doing that - I probably would feel a bit uncomfortable but if the SA is happy to do it why not? This site is about money saving.
M&S have a policy that they will not sell an item back to you if it is reduced - it must be put back on the shop floor for sale and that can take anything up to 2 days from being returned. If it was something you wanted to buy again at the cheaper price it would be difficult as there is no way of knowing when it will appear for sale again.I used to have a life............................... before MSE!!

DS1 was definitely walking everywhere at 3, DD1 was 21 months younger and I used a double buggy once! Way too wide to be practicalalthough it sounds like it could have been perfect for yesterday, when it could have been dual purpose - 1 for aisle blocking and 2 using the empty seat for goodies.
Realistically, I couldn't have carried him far. He was a big chap for his age and when he was two, I was told off by an old lady in the Post Office for him not being at school! He's 26 years old now... 6ft and a policeman. :rotfl:0 -

While you're out and about checking out the last of the sale bargains Bootsers, you might want to check for these on the normal shelves

Just back from my local little branch - quite a few products in the Pantene range with reduced SELS. I got the large 400ml bottle of enhanced layers conditioner for 93p (this is 75% off the normal price).
Even better - there are also lots of Herbal Essences with reduced SELS at 75% off too - and the large 400ml bottles of HE shampoo or conditioner are BOGOF as well.
I got 2 large bottles of HE dazzling shine shampoo for 85p!
The smaller 200ml bottles were 50p - again reduced on SEL, but not BOGOF.
The sign for the BOGOF on HE 400ml shampoo or conditioner were attached to the shelves, and the offers go through the till no problem at all :T.
Not quite as good as getting them reduced and 100 points per bottle, as per last year around this time, but still a bargain.

How do you propose to police this then? Where do you draw the line as to who can have what amount of things?
I am not about to justify to anyone why I want to buy what I want to buy. I came out with more carrier bags yesterday than I could carry in one trip.
If I want to fill my cupboards with the stuff and spend the next 5 years working through it myself or give it away as this year's birthday/ Christmas presents then I shall.
If indeed I were a hoarder and had an obsession with lovely packaging and wanted to stack them up in my spare room to go and look at when I felt depressed then I shall.
If I decide I've bought too much and put some on Ebay then I shall.
If I wanted to make a quick buck and flog it all on Ebay then I shall.
This is a free society and many have lost their lives in the fight for our freedom.
You have no right to wish to restrict someone's purchases because you feel that their uses for the items they are buying are not to your standards or liking...
In each of the scenarios above would I have 'more than my fair share' ? Am I depriving another shopper of the chance to buy it?
If I stared at them all sitting in my spare room and they never got used, would that be not fair to the people who didn't get a look in to buy them?
If you want something that everyone else wants you have to take your chances in the 'fight' for it with everyone else.
This is going to be my last post on this subject because I think it is a real shame that this thread is starting to turn into an arguement. I thought I had made it quite plain that I was referring to the aggressive people who are blocking aisles and clearing whole shelves at a time. You said yourself that you find it annoying when people go mad and they must be traders.
Tesco's have software that limits the amount anyone can buy of certain items at one time and something similar might help the site from crashing at sale time although it might not be financially viable to Boots to set up. Last year it was reported on here that it had been said by customer services that part of the problem was that some people were trying to put 50 plus of one item through in orders at once. In their smaller stores Tesco has a similar rule no more than 10 of one item at a time.
I am not the only one on here who has suggested a limit of some sort and really 10 items of one thing is reasonable, I would have thought. I realise my original post read badly and just said 10 items but I did clarify that in a later post. There would still be nothing to stop someone buying 10 items each of a number of different items.
I have as much right as anyone else to have an opinion and my view remains the same that a limit would help stop the clearing of entire shelves by just one or two people.
Fighting with all the rest for things is all very well but there are a good many people that can't manage for one reason or another to "fight". What a pity that so many people in the free society we still have, are so selfish.0 -
my nearly 3 yr old once out of the pushchair runs like he`s been caged!!!!! bumping into people and no road sense whatsoever.Regardless of me trying to grab his hand he just starts throwing a wobbly if l try to even restrain his crazy behaviour!!!!
thank god for the pushchair its a life saver, keeping over energetic 2 yr old in control
So even though he can walk/run perfectly l prefer to have him in the pushchair until he starts listening to me.:T LLB HONS :T
