  • Hello, I'm new but thought this info could help someone out there. Store in Piccadilly Circus (about an hour ago) had lots of the Gok Wan sets, R&M Vanity Bozex, shelves of the Sanctuary Exotic packs, at least 20 No7 Ultimate Nails.

Do not tell me that. DH is in Leicester Square. MUST LEAVE IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE....MUST LEAVE IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE....
  • im going to have to wait until Friday to go to the shops, hope there is something left!

staff??? or they just got up really early & rushed?

Firstly one of my best friends is a staff member and told me that if you are working you are not allowed to buy till you finish. I know another of the SA's in my local store had to take the day off especially to go to the sale.Perhaps a word with Boots Customer Services about this would be an idea. Regarding the Ultimate boxes they will be lucky to make £24.99 let alone £40.00 plus as they are heavy and postage will be high. I am an e-bayer but due to all the nasty comments I got last year about the sale I only bought for myself and presents today. So it was not me in Bristol Broadmead with about 4 baskets full that her husband was guarding! My OH also helped 1 lady by getting her extra bags as she was on her own and he also looked after someone else's shopping while she looked for her daughter. I am just off to my 90 year old Dads to give him some of the biscuits and slippers I got him. I will post a pic of my goodies later and I think my 24 year old daughter is now an official Bootser. She called me after going to our local store and said "Mum you would have been proud of me. I went straight in and got the things you asked for before anyone even noticed the sale had gone to 75%! So I let her have keep the points she earned and she just went back and bought herself a lovely Celia Birtwell set. Just to end even though I E-Bay I agree that Boots should operate a policy like Tesco where a person is only allowed 6 of an item at a time. I am sure there were a lot of disappointed people today.
  • I was lucky enough to get through at 5am and got what I more or less wanted spending £50 though disappointed there wasn't more. Got 2 of the GOK £40 sets, No17 £30 makeup set, GR8 cake thing (£38) for DD - everything at 75% Off. Went to Stirling for opening. I had already checked the shelves out on Saturday and some of the good stuff was gone - I saw quite a few of the staff going around with trolleys which was obviously items put aside earlier for themselves! Can't blame them really! I spent another £65 mainly on various sanctury including £50 travel case for £12.50(MIL sorted), No 7 eyebrow kit, crackers, FCUK sets and stocking fillers. So pretty much got something to cover most of my family and in-laws Xmas 2010. I'm keeping one of the GOK sets for myself - I deserve it after being up all night ;) Was lurking but really enjoyed the thread - kept me awake - so thanks everyone!

WOOT!! Last year I got very lucky with the boots 75% sale and I didn't think I would be so lucky this year but in the end I was. :)

After last years fiasco online, I decided to go to my bed early and hit the stores 1st thing. I did wake up at 3am though (internal alarm clock or something) and decided to try an order but as I suspected it was no go.

I got up bright and early at 7.30, tried another online order, still down :( so I headed out to my local boots where I was there for the opening. Loads of stock and not many people so was great, got all I wanted plus more... ended up spending about £100, but as last year that is the majority of birthdays and some of next xmas taken care of :)
I was a little more organised this year and had my advantage card and some vouchers ect with me. I used 2x 350 points when you spend £35 and a double points from a mailing I got after xmas. I also used a 250 points on No7 which I got inside a xmas gift set, which scanned nicely on my No7 Ultimate collection box. In my store there were lots of funky photo frames and photo gift type things that I love and didnt expect to be in the sale so that was a nice suprise, I also bought quite a few boxes of chockies  by accident...

Let me point out it seems that you earned points on the 50% off value rather than the 75% off value, or something like that... cant quite work it out but on a £47.46 shop I got 256 points, +300 +250, don't know how that worked but I ended up with 1600 back on a £100 spend. :)

So I get back to work at about 11am and low and behold .com is working, and the only thing I didnt get that I wanted in store was the only thing left in stock on my wish list so I snapped that up too!!

Funny thing is now it is all over I am a little sad, I cannot wait for next year now!

I wouldn't get your hopes up, I just popped in and there wasn't really anything worth getting, just lots of Gok Wan sets and a few other bits and pieces. Most things seem to be overpriced to start with imo.

I quite liked the biscuit tins however but did resist!
  • Orders still not showing on boots account but spoke to a woman at CS and said they've gone through.. ah lets wait and see

this is the thread about buying selling on for profit
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2194169

i'm not ashamed to admit that i'm in on this challenge. It's hard work, stressfull and you have to take a risk with your own money. Most things only make a few quid profit for all the hassle of listing and posting items. I say good luck to those who got stuff to sell on they must have been there first. But i don't like people taking the pee either i only ever buy 2 of anything, some do take the mick with their pricing to

Rose please dont think i was critising staff, if people wanna make a few extra £ let them, its not for us to stop people buying & selling.

staff in the store i went to started @ 7am so they could serve staff first so i know they got first choice, so they should, perk of the job n all ;)
