I would suggest paying by Direct Debit, if you choose Credit Card you cannot stop payments in the event of a dispute and 18185 are well known for the difficulty of getting hold of them.

With Direct Debit you always have the Direct Debit Guarantee to fall back on. If they don't get their money they will be in touch with you.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the tip.

Personally, we gave up with 18185. Either could not get through the number you want was engaged. Actaully the number itself was not engaged, just no lines left for you to make a call especally at peak times, or the line quality was so bad we could not hear the other end.

As I said just a personal experience.

  • We rang BT to remove ourselves from 24/7 'free' calls at £4.99 as we rarely make calls. We only have a BT line to support our broadband. However, BT offered to cut our rental by £2 if we continued for a further year - thus making the inclusive package £2.99! Given that this includes 0845 & 0870 numbers as free then it seems a no-brainer. Might be worth asking for the same?? There are always deals to be done.
