New child board for crafts/ clothes making?

Options
I assume a lot of O.Sers do this and I would love a sub section in O.S dedicated to repairing / reconing / embellishing/ making clothes and all kinds of crafts (i.e paper making, clay, jewellry etc).
I know there are threads on these topics already but it'd be best to have them all in one, and if so it might encourage others to use it that would have overlooked it otherwise.
does anyone agree?

I think so....and what would be lovely is to do craft-alongs where we all start a thing at the same time and post progress reports and finished results..

Or even craft swaps where we get a few people and all do a craft for another person (though no doubt m.s.e rules would stop this)

I wonder how it would work if it was split into different sub boards like cleaning, cooking, crafts and mending, gardening? I like the idea of having specific sub boards for different things, but if it got too seperate, some of the community feel might disappear? (I was thinking that a gardening/growing your own food sub board might be good which is why I'm wondering why stop at a mending/crafts board.)

Very true, but why not have seperate boards for all those things?

I don't think that would be a problem really GR?

From what I've seen of old stylers we are all pretty much multi talented :D It is getting a little confusing especially now Squeaky is no longer around to index the threads. We cover so much on Old Style that threads disappear without trace so quickly and I know I'm not the only one who has trouble with the search facility. Basically if you don't know the exact name of a thread you are stuffed.

I put two specific words into the search box yesterday and ended up with 500 different threads, none of which had anything to do with what I wanted :(

Spot on..things are really lost on this fast moving thread and the search engine, frankly, sucks..lol..

a load of child boards would be best, to keep everything grouped in one place..though harder to moderate I assume!?

If anything it would be easier to board guide on because like you said it would be easier to search for older threads to match up.

There is a technical problem with the mega index at the moment which doesn't help, but it's being worked on as far as I know.
