livinginhope thats alfull i dont know how people can be like that but its totaly there loss.i agree with you life is to short but but im not going to wast anymorre time on her or have my kids made to feel like they have done something wrong because she is nasty to them

If she rings when you find out its her, just say " oh its you " and put the phone down, every time.

I am very lucky that my in laws were lovely people, but i had a similar thing going on with another member of his family, put up with terrible behaviour in front of my children for many years, then one day decided no more i will not be responsible for their attitude and just decided enoughs enough , told hubby he could do what he liked towards him but without my support, he bothered for a few months, then finally realised,the amount of supreme effort needed to dance to this other persons tune . you will reach a time, if you stop taking responsibility for her actions towards you and yours, that nothing she says matters or that anything she does will be missed (do you want a person like this acting as a grandmother to your children?)
i was shocked when a councillor explained that i was trying to justify or be responsible for this persons behaviour to protect my husband feelings. we do it because we care for our families , we think that because they are parents, brothers or sisters we will allow them to treat us like lesser beings . just remember if your husband had married someone else that had a child she probably would have been the same to them, its all about control, m.i.l. has probably had no control in her own life so is trying to control yours. sorry if i have gone on a bit but i had this right through school and was happiest when i got married then another controlling person came along in my husbands family, it took me years to do something but i can honestly say we have all been the happier for it

A update i gave him 14 grand for a house desposit and he threw me out when my middle daughter broke the glass in the door shes ADHD Im single now and he has turned just like his mother i had enough in the end made me feel worthless just like she used to,for being my daughters full time carer i painted the house nearly 16 hours a day and looked after the kids that was the final straw.
