I wasn't being obnoxious, This thread reminds me of tescos change of coupon policy. It does seem you think its your right to have cashback on your credit card. I never mentioned anyone in general, I'm saying all cashback card threads people think its their god given right
Seemed pretty obnoxious to me, thank you. Unnecessary.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thank you.0 -
Hi,
According to threads on other forums we will be getting 3% in drivers club points effective from the 1st january 2010, this will only apply to those who are affected from the withdrawal of the shell by citi mastercard, so those who didn't have one will still only get the current rate on the drivers club, however i haven't had my letter yet to confirm this.
Thanks

I understand both points of the argument; if it was used extensively then it would be missed by the card holder, but I get that it's withdrawl isn't a great suprise either. However, this thread seems to be more about the shocking customer service than the withdrawl.0 -

I just want to know how they know my drivers club number from my Citi card? I mean I never told them it, not was it compulsory to do. Are Shell cross checking the databases of card holders to drivers club holders?0 -

I was wondering the same I have never given my drivers club number to citi, I am presuming that shell have done as you have suggested and cross referenced the two databases.
I recieved my letter from shell yesterday confirming that we will be recieving the reward of 3 points per litre of fuel, however it says that I there is no need to do anything as the extra points will be updated automatically, although this offer will only last for 12 monthsBut i suspect that shell will be working on launching another card for when this offer expires.
The letter reads as follows:
Dear Mr X
Following the decision by Citi to withdraw the Shell Mastercard from Citi, shell is giving you the oppurtunity to earn money off shell fuel.
As a special thank you for being a loyal customer, shell is pleased to announce a special promotional reward rate on your shell drivers club account
This offer will allow you to earn triple points (up to a maximum of 3 points per litre) on shell fuel purchased during 2010
Terms and conditions apply *
What does this mean for your rewards?
From 1st January 2010 you will earn 3 points per litre on shell fuel purchased using your shell drivers club account for a maximum of 12 months
What do you have to do to get the promotional rate?
Nothing. Your card will automatically be updated to award the promotional reward rate so you can start earning points from 1st January 2010
If you have any questions regarding this promotional reward rate, then please contact shell drivers club customer service team on 08459006008
We would like to take this oppurtunity to thank you for being a loyal shell customer and hope that you continue to visit shell service stations

I just got the letter yesterday so I would presume that if you haven't had a drivers club card before that it will take time for them to register it, but if you don't get the letter give them a call0 -

This is still a poor deal when you do the sums. One is better off filling up at Tesco and take advantage of the 2x clubcard points/£ spend. For an average price of £1.05/l of petrol one would be approx 30% better off in terms of reward with Tesco compared with Shell. Considering 4x clubcard rewards, it will be even more! In short, ditch ditch, ditch:eek:0
