ebay/PAYPAL mislead in small print

Hi everybody,
Paid £1000.00 for a TV which never arrived. Contacted ebay/PAYPAL who told me the funds had been frozen, in the sellers account. They have now refunded me a measely £105.00 saying that the funds had been released to the seller even after I had warned them, and the so called £500.00 buyer protection has limitations which are only apparent when you go into the small print. A multi million pound organisation which is part of the ebay empire has very little regard for the individual buyer, and as long as they get their multi million pennies worth they don't seem to be too bothered. Also try contacting ebay by phone, it's easier to talk to Tony Blair about his toenails.

You paid £1000 on ebay for a TV? Sorry but I wouldnt pay this much without seeing it - I would be more likely to collect it and pay then.
Have you tried contacting the seller - whats his feedback like?Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
If you paid using a credit card via paypal then contact your Card issuer immediately and claim from them.

can we have the auction details please?
you need to contact your credit card company URGENTLY, file a chargeback with them, read up here on other similar problems (seach the forums!)
paypal will likely 'harass' you if you do this, as they'll be out of pocket, not you, but, you have a guarentee with your credit card company, the goods didnt arrive, paypal needs to sort it out with them :-)
good luck, and keep us updatedmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

And if you didn't pay by credit card, you really should go the small claims route.
Incidentally - paypal t & C's can be very confusing but I find it hard to believe that anyone planning on spending £1000 on something wouldn't read each and every word. I'm sorry if that sounds unsympathetic.0 -

The guy has no feedback and used a supplied photo.
Did you not ask to see more pics? Why did you hand over a ton to someone with zero fedback?
Are you on a wind-up?
Sorry if I sound unsympathetic but I can't believe someone would spent a grand 'just like that'!! :cool:Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

Sorry to say it but it looks like you are too trusting as stated above with the seller having no feedback at all and I would not be surprised if the seller has done it to others as well
I would never spend £1,000 via paypal under any circumstances let alone a seller with no feedback as it is too risky
Good luck in trying to re-claim your funds0 -

If they even have the true details of the scammer's identity.
As usual, PayPal protects neither sellers nor buyers. PayPal only protects themselves.0
