Just checked - all mine happened OK this month, as normal. Only four transfers each way between two accounts, though.
  • At this point, I feel it right to shamelessly plug the following article on my website:

    have fun :)

I'm not sure why, it isn't accurate. The terms and conditions clearly state that "You can hold one Reward Current Account in your sole name and one in joint names.", not three as your article suggests.

Prior to Dec 2009, you could hold up to three of these accounts. I have three for a free £15 per month. "Luvvly jubbly Rodders".

actually I do (in a paranoid way) suspect this is their way of getting me to stop the gravy train.

It's far more likely that one of your SOs wasn't made because of the Bank Holidays we've just passed through .... at which point the whole pack of cards falls?

Except, if these were purely internal Halifax SOs ..... in which case they're internal transfers and work irrespective of weekends etc? But if the start of the cycle is from outside Halifax - you have a problem - if you're not buffering the dates to cope with non-working day delays.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

Has anyone else noticed their Halifax standing orders not being made?
I have never had a problem with Halifax internal standing orders.
I got automated 'we decided not to make one of your payments because you didn't have enough money' letters
That means that you didn't have enough money in the account to cover the standing order!
when one of my daily (I cycle £150 around each of the accounts) standing orders just didn't happen. It's been working fine for months but now suddenly it looks like I'm going to have to log in every day to check up, or cancel all the automated payments and start moving money manually.
Internal standing orders shouldn't be a problem. Do you have a payment coming in to the account from outside Halifax? Did you allow enough time for this to be received over a holiday period?
Obviously I'm reluctant to contact Halifax and have them look closely at the accounts as they'll clock I'm taking them for a ride - even though I'm not breaking any T&Cs... actually I do (in a paranoid way) suspect this is their way of getting me to stop the gravy train.
    Yup. Totally paranoid.

Still, how much have they charged you for the failed payments on their Reward accounts?

When I was a kid, my dad got me a shiny black box for saving all my 50p pieces in.

I was 14 before I discovered it was the electric meter.

    ROTFLMAO
  • I've never had a problem before either - all my transfers are internal Halifax so should be 'immune' to delays for weekends/holidays, and indeed have been working fine for months now.

It's just the odd one has simply not happened, no message, no error. But then as Mikeyorks says - it's a house of cards, so when one fails, there's no money in the right account for the next transfer. I only got a 'failed payment' letter from them because they failed to make the previous payment!

I reckon I was in 'unauthorised overdraft' as a result of this for three days, so it will cost me 3 x £5. If I kicked up a fuss I dare say they would have to refund it because it was their error - but as I say I don't want them looking too closely at what I'm doing... folk seem to be saying that new customers can only have two reward accounts but due to various lucky timing both my g/f and I have four of these each and are taking HBOS for a ride to the tune of £40 a month.

My apologies if it is a !!!! up on their part then!

If it's as you say I would suggest wandering in to a branch to identify exactly what went wrong (and to ask for the fess back).

Even if it's just to discuss the source account that generated the first failure!

    Some branches are open today.

They'll be too worried about hitting their quarter 4 sales targets to get involved in identifying any potential account abuse (which earns them no bonus).

At the time of writing, it was three. It's more for reference than for guidance.
