Oh no, elysia, please dont say that! I'm totally and utterly fed up with snow now! Hmm, I thought I was doing well, but I've just checked my bank account online and a withdrawal of £10 has come out, followed by £500. Im praying that this is a mistake, but I dont think it is, a nonexistant company that had my bank details did this before, but they only took £85, now I think they have got more, but I dont know how, cos I got a new card any everything! Feel like crying, the money has taken me over my overdraft, so big charges for me, and it was also my rent, which is due on friday. Help!! xxx
Oh No thats terrible , I nearly got caught with a company called Dazzlewhite, after I signed up for their free trial I then googled it and saw all the hype about this scam so was on and on at them every day for about two weeks, eventually got it sorted and they cancelled everything but they werent going to but i wasnt going away!
even if you change your card they have your direct debit details which is why they can still take it when you change your card.
Is it a credit or debit card? Credit cards have insurance but mine was debit and my bank didnt want to know as I have authorised it (although I didnt see the very small print in the T&Cs)
Hope you get it sorted hun

That is exactly what has happened to me pammy, it was a company called help2stop (They sis exactly the opposite, stressed me out so much I smoked twice as much!). And mine is also a debit, so because I authorised it they wouldnt do anything, but they said cancelling my card would mean they couldnt do it again! When I rang the company (which ended up costing me over £100 over 3 weeks of ringing everyday) they said I had signed a contract, which I DEFINITELY didnt do (I always read the small print!), but I didnt know what to do, so I just decided to leave it and be happy they hadnt taken anymore, but I did report them to trading standards, and they said they had had hundreds of complaints about the company, and hundreds more about other companies that they think are linked to that one, and they were doing all they can to track it down grrr! So it could be the same company that did it to us both! So I doubt I will ever get it back, think i might have to close my account, but god knows how i'm going to pay my rent! xxx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0

Mine was a direct debit card - twice they refunded me my money after the fraud squad investigated it, and twice my card was used abroad (debit) but they declined the payment.
The ones abroad had purchased a load of kids clothes in a hypermarket over £300 - when the purchase didn't go through they must have thought I didn't have that much in my account and took one or two items off the bill, they tried again (so twice in 5 minutes) unknowingly to them I only have about £3 in my account at the time. Luckily for me, that's why they didn't get away with it.
What a shame HLC - are you sure the bank can't do anything to get the money back? Go and see the bank manager tomorrow.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

hlcarroll that is terrible - make sure you get the bank to sort it out.
I've just been onto my online banking to cancel my car insurance direct debit as I have just changed companies and they have taken their last payment - I was a bit shocked to see about 5 other direct debits on there that I have never cancelled from previous insurance etc - luckily none of then have ever tried taking payments, but it scared me a bit (some of them dated back to 2006!). I have cancelled them all now.Thrifty Gifty February make £20 challenge £21.05/£20.0 -
Just been into the bank, as suspected they said there isnt much that can be done, they have closed my account, and transferred my direct debits over to my other account, and said they will look into it, and if I havent heard anything in three weeks then to get back to them. They were very helpful and sympathetic but that doesnt pay my rent! My contract is up on my house this month, and if I leave then my last months rent is paid, but then ive got no where to live! lol. Think im abit hysterical, I keep laughing uncontrollably lol, I have no idea what to do, and probably wont be ablt to get a loan as I've only just got a new job. ho hum! Thanks everyone for being so kind, I'm sure it will be ok, I just feel so stressed out, and cant believe that the bank let them take it again! xxx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0

I'm really sorry that things aren't working out very well with this - perhaps you could try your local CAB if you have one - I'm sure somebody there would be able to give you some good advice.
I'm sure that things will get straightened out for you soon.

Sorry I've been absent, I've been having an interview with a vampire for the whole weekend. True Blood, two whole seasons. Amazing, I love it! Just churned out 1600 words about it for dooyoo too!
Over 15000 for dooyoo now. Keep going everyone! Going to list more on eBay tonight.
The Xbox didn't sell, got one offer which was more than half the price I advertised it for. Not sure whether to start it low? Will be gutted if I don't get enough for it though

I'd stick with it with the Xbox, demand flactuates especially as there is so many deals on them at the moment. If you can, hang on to it until you get a good price!Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
I'm waiting for a £20 voucher from Dooyoo and nearly half way to next one.
Has anyone on this thread belonged to Bingobritain? Iread about it on another thread and saw a few people were winning so thought I would have a go. Deposited £10 and won £25, have tried to withdraw this evening but after I withdrew I read the FAQs (yes should have read first) and it says on there you cant withdraw less than £50. I am sure I have read of people withdrawing less than that. Just wondered if anyone on here new? If not I will just have to play it through and hope I can win bigger.0 -
They keep changing the withdrawal limit, which is quite annoying! If you wait a few days it might go back down. A lot of people seem to be winning again, and they don't seem to like that!Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0
