I'll definitely join in with the Ebay challenge. I keep meaning to list things on Ebay but then I can't be bothered as it seems to take so long, perhaps this will give me a bit more motivation
We have SOOOOO much snow here, I can't believe it! I went to school (I teach, I'm not really young!) and stayed for about half an hour then got sent home. It then took 2 hours to drive the normally 20 minute route home. We passed so many abandoned cars.
I've had a great afternoon though: DH, DS and I went to play in the snow. DH and I had a big snow fight and my son suddenly shouted "Throw at Louis!" as he wanted us to throw snow at him. Then we made a MASSIVE snowman, he was huge!
Right, I don't want to waste this unexpected free afternoon. I've already written a review to add to dooyoo so I'll check for Ebay things soon.Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Hi all! first post on this threat althought have been following! im kerrie 22
SAHM to phoebe who is 1 next week, have DP 25 and saving to move house! oh and our wedding this year
Would love to be money neutral as i often spend to much at xmas and it would be nice for the money i save ususally (about £600) to go towards something else other than xmas!
I tihnk the £20 dooyoo is a great challenge just think £20 a month, 4o reviews a month, 10 reviews a week, just over 1 a day = £240 by xmas....and that minimum not inclding any rating. So double that, and its looking good!0 -
Well done Kerrie - Another way of thinking is two a day - with the weeked off! It doesn't sound quite so daunting then.
I've just listed another 5 things on ebay but I really don't expect them to go for much - enough to cover the last lot of ebay and paypal fees would be great.
We've had the first real snow here today. Only snowed for about 20 mins and is about 1 and a half inches deep. Nothing compared to some people around the country but everything has come to a standstill as per usual.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Hi everyone - I hope you are all ok.
My 7 items on ebay have just sold for £53.99. I have 5 other things that i've just listed so that'll cover fees if they sell. With Dooyoo at £8.50 i'm all done.
Good luck with your challenges everyone.....You can do it!!!!I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Branded kits like winnie the pooh can sell well it would be worth selling the in one lot. Even tiny kits in hobbycraft go for 2-6 so think you could start off with £4 for 4 sets and see how far it goes?
I think selling beads in big bags/mixed lots is good idea. Lots of people sell them in oz bags which can be expensive if you want lots of colour or are just starting out. Depends what you mean by tonnes! You could always put a buy now price up higher that might get you more.
Ive easily paid £1-1.50 for tiny bag it would be worth looking at similar beads and starting just under. Found lots of ebay shops sell beads so you may have to get people interested with a good price to start off.
Thank you Gingerbiscuit! I'll get them down from the loft tonight or tomorrow and start sorting / photographing
Hee, hee by tonnes I mean about 2 full Bags For Life Sized bags, which feels huge to me
Plus thanks for the tip on Buy It Now on the beads - I wouldn't have thought to do that but makes senseApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
I know this isnt anything to do with the challenge but on the money making side has anyone heard of this.....
