I did one but the allocation email said that the deadline would be extended as long as I'd filled in as much as I could by the deadline. I managed to get something on free next day delivery and sent it straight back on the day it arrived so I'm just waiting for the refund.

Well here's hoping. All their allocation said was that I should make the purchase "asap" - all good and well but the number of things that one can arrange to purchase with free next day courier delivery when the next day is new years eve and the day after is new years day and the day after is a saturday are pretty limited. We'll see what happens - have done so many others during this wave that I'm not too worried if all I get is the survey fee.

Just completed my 1st job of 2010! Chicken meal for gyp. I said i wouldnt do another 1 of these as i dont really like it but it was the only assignment I could pick up for them in 2 months so thought I had better keep my hand in!

Anybody had jobs deallocated by TNS over a weekend for supposedly not opening the work packs? I had one deallocated on Friday which spurred me on to open everything that was available to open on my Visits page. Today I have an email, sent at 00:25 this morning saying that another was deallocated because I hadn't opened it. I know I had. I have a snotty email ready to send but I don't want to do that and them get sniffy and take them all away.
Anyone identify with this?

In previous years I've never bothered claiming mileage as I haven't earned enough MS-ing to worry about tax etc.

However as I've been really busy this year (mainly due to ABAi!!!!) I'm going to have earned lots more so am just working out my mileages.

Quick question (and I wrote the OP so I know it's not there!!!) ... I did 3 jobs while I was at Centerparcs last month - 1 restaurant and 2 coffee shops, could I be really sneaky and claim the 175 mile round trip? Or do you think that's pushing it a bit far ......

Has the job definitely vanished from your account? I had the deallocation email for a job a month or so ago, but it was still showing, I did the job and was paid! Or if it has been deallocated, you might be able to pick it up again!

No, both have gone....one is showing as available on the Visit Search page (and tbh I'm not so concerned about that one), the other has already been picked up by somebody else. Should I complain to TNS do you think? If they are taking jobs without reason what's to stop them from doing it with any of the rest I'm scheduled to do for them? They weren't even due til 13 and 14/1....others scheduled for this week coming weren't even flagged up as reminders...don't geddit???!!

I believe that in the strictest sence that the journey had to be exclusivley for that purpose, however, as someone else pointed out to me the tax man has bigger fish to fry than losing the tax on 175 miles over a year, so if it was me I would claim it

I'm another who'd claim it. 175/3 = 58ish miles a job, that's reasonable.

I've not had that, but I would email and let them know that there is a problem in case there is something wrong that needs fixing.

I have jobs booked and had made a note on my Outlook calendar that the links would be available on the 29th. I looked around lunchtime on the 29th and the links were not there, so I moved the note to the 30th to remind me to check the next day. I was a bit narked to get up on the 30th and find an automated email telling me off for not opening the links!
