THIS IS TOTALLY OFF-TOPIC, BUT PLEASE .... can you all sign this petition to No 10?

    Petitition signed.

Quick question on petrol jobs for gap. Do they not like you doing the same place twice in a row? Cant see this restriction mentioned but have been rejected for two petrol jobs. No reason given but I did them both the last time they came up.

Further to your post yesterday about not putting down food as taxable how did you record them? Or didn't you? I use the same spreadsheet and I havn't quite worked that bit out yet.

    I wasn't offered a free gift :(

    Neither was I :(

Borders - I assume so, I've had the same problem before now.

Matthewluck - The peri peri jobs are *just* enough for 2 people, possibly a few £ short. Includes a starter to share, 2 mains and 2 drinks though so a good meal out. If you get a loyalty card it makes it more worthwhile. I'm saving my stamps for a massive chickenfest.

I don't use that spreadsheet as I use one my mum made (she does it too). I have a column called 'necessary expenses’ where I record all the food I have bought to consume for the job. Basically I have a fee, printing, mileage, car park etc.., and necessary expense column and all the columns are subtracted from the fee one and then it calculates tax based on the reduced amount in the fee column. If it is something like clothes or toiletries that I have been reimbursed for I just count that as a fee and pay tax on it.

I'm going for just 1, coz it'll take them at least that long to get it back online again....
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

  • I have got a manic day MS'ing tomorrow, although part of me is wishing I had kept the diary clear just in case a load of jobs are released through the different companies.

Will take laptop with me, and park up in a McD car park during the day!!
