Just had my first gyp call of the year. 2 burgers, 1 chicken, 2 city centre stamps and 3 petrols later and my diet isn't looking as good as it was. Oops :o

I got the periodic burger questionnaire come up yesterday so I said I WAS vegetarian so I don't see them again! Started Slimming World again yesterday and I dont want to be tempted!!

I have decided I am going to challenge my will power and have the compulsory bite and then chew gum and sip the 0 Calorie drink. Now - on tax grounds - as I'm not eating it, it is not a benefit?
Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

Yeh a couple of them are drive throughs so easier to pass the food over to others after tasting. One question though, he said I could do the burgers at a different time i.e evening instead of lunch, but they're still showing a lunch time. Is this going to cause me problems? Is it worth sending them a message about it?

How comes you waited for a call instead of choosing the the jobs of the site ?

i don't put any 'instant' food down as a taxable as i have to eat it to do the job (whether i want it or not). i class it as a necessary expense as i have to eat it there and then and don't have anything to keep. i only put food down for tax purposes if it is say a supermarket job as i can pick what i want and take it home.

Stoozer I am sure Lil Me can answer for herself but don't forget a lot of the burger etc type jobs had today or tomorrow as a closing date. Probably someone who had booked it probably couldn't face more food.

they call you if they are desperate and bribe you to do burger jobs! only works if they cannot get people to do them through the site voluntarily

I would if I were you to cover your back.

I did a strange one today. The receipt had a centre of Glasgow postcode on it yet this was way out on the outskirts... not even in Glasgow actually. And the briefing notes said there was an ice cream place to the left and there wasn't. So I have sent them an email saying this in case they query it.

By my rules if you need to taste the food to answer questions on it then it is non-taxable because it is a requirement of the job. This is also handy for pizzas and pub food ;)
At a push I suppose we could also construct an argument that because we need to buy things in shops to assess the customer service at the checkouts these items should not be included in payments, I've not been brave enough as yet however to try that one :)
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

Does anyone know re the dine in pizza buffet...can you do it on your own or does it have to be 2 people. It is just I am doing a bank interview type job and this pizza buffet is right next to said bank. I can hardly take my mother though and expect her to wait 45 minutes for me.

Poor mum has Alzheimers and I took her once for a dine in job and she blurted out to the server..."My daughter is a mystery shopper". I just made a face like "what" and the girl just laughed. By which time I had asked for a receipt anyway.
