I have just been paid by Bare for a job and I think my bank have taken £20 of the fee for the inconvenience to them of giving me my Euro fee as Pounds. Does anyone have a tip for avoiding this theft happening in future?

And just in case its helpful to someone some advice - I wouldn't use NatWest for Bare payments in future!

    Thanks

I got caught by Alliance and Leicester for £10. I was pretty peeved. Halifax don't charge. (Plus I totally agree on the theft part!)

Got stung by A&L a couple of months ago as they never used to charge.

Aha! That will probably explain why they didn't charge me the first payment but did on the second. I thought they were just being nice as the first payment was only £12 or so and a £10 charge would have been ridiculous.
