Cheaper broadband in REMOTE (non-city) areas?

Hi all,
My house isn't in a big city. Consequently a lot of the fabulous broadband deals out there don't apply. I type in my telephone number/postcode and suddenly all the prices change. Most of them seem to double!
Has anyone else got a decent out-of-city broadband deal? The comparison sites are pretty useless to me - as they always show the price that city dwellers pay!
I'm looking for an unlimited package (since I don't have a TV - I can get all on need on i-player and it saves me remembering to set the video!!)
Any ideas or advice?

It's nothing to do with a non-big city location, it's to do with the size of the exchange. Rural exchanges tend to be smaller and uneconomic to for ISP's to LLU them.
Go to https://www.samknows.com, then exchange search, and check what your LLU options, these will always be the best deals.
Very few unlimited deals on non-LLU though. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I'm in the same position was with Tiscali umlimited, who have been taken over by talk talk who now want to charge me more £5 for 40gb cap. Got my mac code but got nowhere to go.
Don't have LLU in my area and max speed is 2.5mb.0 -
Plusnet is a good non LLU option, but not if you also want unlimited. No free lunch, and no free laptop

My options are becoming very limited, stick with tiscali/talktalk price increase to £19.99 and capped @ 40gb, or plusnet £19.99 capped at 80gb. A couple of internet providers I rang today have been told not to get new broadband users, ukonline adviser said they have been told to tell people to ring their sister company sky, he sounded so depressed, that he doesn't know if he still has a job.
so will ring sky tomorrow see if they can do better.0 -
