1571 service on internet line sounds like a dalek

we have had a problem for some time now with our 1571 message service on the internet line on our hub phones. the messages and the bt lady who introduces them sound like a dalek who is underwater.

we phoned the people at BT, their solution was to send us a new hub, which unsurprisingly didnt work (why would it be our hub when the actual phone calls dont sound like this)

since using the new hub, nothing has changed on the messages, they are still the same. the only thing that has changed is that our download usage has gone up massively for some reason and im wondering whether the change of hub has enabled someone to get into our broadband (but thats another query)

whats the solution for the dalek on 1571?

thanks

    Hi Jenner,

What happens if, before dialling 1571 you input the number 5 (to route the call via your landline)? If the voice is still distorted it may be a problem with the Hub Phone itself.

What's the call quality like when making normal calls?

    Ta,

thanks Stephanie, if I put 5 before dialing, then I would be dialing the 1571 service on the landline instead of the internet line wouldnt I?

if not, let me know but I know that we have dialled that on all 5 hub phones and its fine on the landline service. Surely not all the hub phones are dodgy?

the quality of the line when just talking normally on a call is excellent
