    You need to contact Microsoft Product Support and tell them about the issue. If they are then happy to replace it, then they will either give you an address to send it to, or just tell you to bin it. BUT it' not their responsibility to do anything, since your contract is with the retailer.

    Sending it to Redmond or Reading without prior agreement will get you nowhere, as without being address specifically to someone who works in that building, they'll just refuse it.
    The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

    I got it from pc world and took it back, unfortunatly no receipt as it was a gift, and they said they couldn't help and to send it to microsoft.
    No more need be said...
    I'm just getting a wireless dongle replaced FOC by Belkin, for a friend, who originally got it as a present from someone who bought it from an unknown retailer.

    Id contact ms first to see A if they would help and B where to send it to, depends if you wnat to go to the trouble but as it was a gift then yes maybe you should make the effort but thats what i would do
