Will a 3 tariff work on a Sony Ericsson K750i??

Was about to order a new handset with a 3 tariff that included video calls etc (which I know I won't use), but I'm really happy with my Sony Ericsson K750i and was hoping to use my new SIM in my existing phone and sell the new phone.
I've checked the Sony Ericsson website and realised that the new handset I was going for is a 3G handset – does that mean I wouldn't be able to use my old handset if I chose to?
Help!

If it's not a 3G phone then I don't think you can use the 3 sim in it. There may be ways around this but 3 don't like it and might end up charging you for calls.2p off is still 2p off!0
