BT Basic and Broadband

Hi, Hoping someone can help please as I seem to be getting different answers. My grandad is on BT basic for his phone line and would like to get broadband. I have phoned BT and they have advised that if he wanted BT broadband or broadband with any other provider he would need to change his line rental to the full line rental of £12.50pm. (just now on BT Basic it is around £4.50pm). But according to the downloadable leaflet on BT Basic it does say you can get broadband on the BT Basic package.

Is anyone on BT Basic and have broadband, or can anyone advise please. I just seem to be going round in circles.
Many Thanks

Yes, you can receive broadband with BT Basic line. And you do not need to take the broadband from BT - check samknows to see what ADSL providers are available to you.
