Well done elzie! Can I be nosey and ask if the £1520 was the full amount you claimed? I got a letter back from HSBC with an offer to repay my money but less £100. I wrote back saying I wanted all of it. I figured if they were going to pay anything they should pay it all. Plus I too have debts to clear and need every penny! I am still waiting for their reply but am getting alittle worried. The guy that wrote to me with the offer also phoned me and 'suggested' that if I didn't accept their initial offer the might withdraw it altogether or the might pay all of it.

    Hi nomoredebts,

I was asking for £1480 but they paid me out £1520 for my troubles! The official wording was the infamous as you are a loyal customer!!

    Ha not anymore i aint!!

My letter also said that if i did not accept the offer and took them to court I would not win as they would contest my claim and that basically i should accept this offer- which is a bit daft really as they paid me more than i wanted!!

    Dur HSBC!!

I am so chuffed still!! let me know how you get on with your claim!

Wow that's brilliant Elzie! I am still waiting for their reply. I gave them 10 working days to respond as that's the time frame they gave me to reply them accepting their 1st offer. I signed it but crossed out the bit where it said 'full and final'settlement and wrote'partial'. Haven't heard back from them yet, but I am really encouraged by your success. Their 10 working days expires on Friday so I hope they are not going to be stubborn and make me go through Moneyclaim. I wish they would just cough up!

My full claim was for £962.50 but they offered me £862.50. Wouldn't it be grand if they rounded it up to a grand? (see what I've done there? Hee hee!)
