That's great news. :T I've just got a very confusing letter back from my bank - along with my 10 pound cheque saying that they'd be sending me the information I asked for - but that the format would be on their terms. Not really sure what the rest of the letter was about though.

Will have to wait see what they send through I guess.

    Hi Brassic,
I said in my initial letter to them that thye could debit my account for the £10 and they said that they would do it for free, as it was in their interst to provide good customer service (erm yeah!)

Anyway, they spouted a lot of stuff about manual intervention, which I did not quite understand but hey I got my refund and I am so pleased its untrue!!

Just out of interest Elzie did you simply follow the procedure in the article word for word or did you have to do anything extra? How long was it before they coughed up?

    Well done you :T

    Hi Devo,

It was quite simple really and I didnt need to do any extra work.

I sent my bank a letter just asking for the six years of statements and told them to debit my account for the £10 fee (which they sent for free in the name of good customer service erm?!!)
These were received within a week in 56 envelopes! bet my postie loved me!
I calculated the fees then sent off the letter asking for repayment as on the consumer action group site, then panicked a little as had not had a reply after 13 days then on the 14th day received the good news about repayment!

    whole process took 26 days!!

    Still really chuffed today!!
