The brokers remain pretty negative. Yahoo has now increased its coverage to 9 brokers - so it's getting to be much more of a representative sample.
Their average target price is 270/271.5p
(depending on the type of average).
The range of target views is 260p-290p.0 -

There seems to be something very positive happening today

I've just sold 2,000 @ 292.8 And intend to stick with my final 3,000 to see what happens and to pick up some bonus shares.0 -

Good decision i reckon
Also looks like £3.00 plus not far away - still optomistic ::A 0 -
One positive industry factor is the seemingly high volume of new life & pensions business generally.
Aviva & Friends Provident appear to have benefited and on Monday Royal London (& its Scottish Life subsidiary) also saw sales up 21% in the first nine months of 2006.
So the assumption is that it is probably an industry thing rather than one company getting market share at the expense of others.0 -
Looks like we have an all time end day high of possibly 293.75
.
But there were some significant after hours sales e.g. £1m @ 290.5p
Watch out for new business figures to be revealed on Wednesday
Yahoo
Will they calm investor nerves after the lost with profits business/encashments that dogged the 6 month figures and led to those hefty provisions?
One reason I sold a few more is that these broker recommendations just don't make sense.
Yahoo link - Evolution suggests that you should add to your Standard Life holding with a 285p target price
