Yellow lines and snow

I was just saying that's all, the traffic wardens don't care about snow do they...
I've used a shovel before now, anyway it's a lot brighter outside now.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I just thought it was an odd response:
OP: "I'm on a yellow line but I can't move my car because of the snow. What should I do?"
Barneysmom: "Move your car".
Now if you'd said "Shovel away the snow" that would have been a response which followed the conventions of logical conversation. It may or may not have solved the OP's problem, but it would have been a reasonable suggestion.0 -
A dedicated snow shovel would be a lot cheaper than a parking ticket, and you can keep it in your car.
eg Less than £10:

A parking ticket would probably be free if he photographed his car stuck in the snow.0

I'm wondering if it would be worth phoning the relevant department of the local authority to explain and ask their advice. Presumably they will not suggest moving a car if dangerous and thus will be able to confirm that this was not something just ''illegally'' parked, but something that you have made effort to resolve?0

Fantastic suggestion. All I need now is to invent a time machine, head back to 3 days in the past, place the order and hope it turns up in time.
Of course there's always the chance that I'll bump into myself in the past and cause some sort of a rift in the space time continuum but that should be alright as long as I stay sharp.
And then of course there's the problem that's already been pointed out that a shovel won't help me with my problem of driving a car on ice. But hey, I'll have invented time travel by then, which will make my £35 parking fine seem insignificant in comparison.0 -

Come on, if you're going to the effort of inventing and building a time machine, you may as well grit the road while you're at it.
But seriously, make sure you get some pics of your car as it is, just in case you do get a ticket.0 -

Highly unlikely the parking attendant won't turn up. They always seem to be there when they need to. Best would be to show him when he comes what will happen!
Best of luck. Hope you don't receive a ticket from these money grabbers.0 -
They don't stop issuing tickets just cos it snows!

If you can't see the lines, you can't abide by the rules...so no ticket can be enforced.
Now if there are signs on posts as well.....0
