Hello everyone,

I just got an email about an event at Mount Stewart in May. It seems as if it will be big - however, as we know, they all claim to be. Did anyone go to this last year? Chocco - I imagine it might be somehitng that you have done as there seems to be a lot of food things at it. They have said on the app that they are doing a marquee exclusively for jewellery and confectionary as they have so many jewellery offerings. This could be a blessing or a curse for jewellery peeps.
The fees vary but are in and around £100, and I think that is for the two days.

If anyone wants the email me louise@thehandbagfairy.co.uk and i'll forward it on. There is also one for a vintage car show in june, but i think ill give that one a miss.

Seems an awful lot of money to be put in a tent with lots of other people selling the same thing? As a visitor to an event I would wander in, browse and walk out again once I got a bit tired of looking at a gazillion beaded necklaces and earrings? Just my personal thought, but it doesnt sound a great strategy on their part. Ive found the best fairs are better organised by restricting similar types of sellers - no names mentioned! What do you other jewellery folk think?
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T

Agree to a certain extent - unless it is clearly marketed as a 'jewellery fair' in which case fine folk will know what to expect and since our styles are all so different we would all probably do ok in those circumstances.

Otherwise..... please organisers, no more than 3 of any 1 discipline... please?!

Hi everyone . just found you all again! So glad the snow has gone and hope it stays away. I'm tahinking of taking a hewellery class in Lurgan, possibly starting in March, if anyone knows of anyone interested people please pass on info. Already taking one in Ballydougan ( off the Gilford Rd near Lurgan) on a Monday afternoon but might have enough for that. It starts on Monday so will know then for sure.

As regards craft fairs I definitely will be asking how many jewellery stands there are. Dont mind a bit of variation and competition. Its always good to see what other people are doing and enjoy the chat with like minded people but there has got to be a limit.

Mount Stewart I will give a miss, think people just walk past when there is too much of the same thing!!What do the reat of you think?
• Hi Girlies!

Sorry I dont get on this to often! Thanks for the advice regarding the calender! I think I will not bother. I also recieved an email regarding mount stewart. Not sure what to do yet? Rachel I got an email from balance house they will be letting me know the events list for 2010 in next few weeks lol.
• IF YOU FIND ANOTHER DATE/FAIR, PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THIS LIST AND ADD YOURS TO IT, DELETE ANY PAST FAIRS THAT HAVE ALREADY HAPPENED, SO WE CAN KEEP THE LIST FRESH! PLEASE DONT JUST POST SINGLE FAIR DATES.

Saturday 6th February 2010
Belmont Tower, Belmont Road
10-4
Googlesearch Belmont Tower Craft Fair and they have their own site - apply online via form, but also phone and chase as they are pretty busy. There may be a waiting list and crafters are rotated if there are duplicate crafts.

Saturday 27th February 2010...
Craft Fair, Regent House School from 10am - 2pm
Regent House School
Circular Road
Newtownards
T: 91813234 (school office, so during school time only)

March 13th Gilnahirk Primary School
pm me for contact details of lady organising the fair
Crafters in at 9am, fair 11-3
£25 per table
Last year 500 visitors, this is the 2nd year of doing it.
So far only 3 jewellery stalls, but think carefully before you decide to do it if you are another jeweller and ask the usual questions!
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T
