Im loving this thread. Im addicted to craft fairs, but since I dont drive, Im limited to where I can go. Looking forward to Whitehead on Saturday with the OH and DD tho. Anyone here going?
The reason I discovered this thread is that Im searching for an artist that is in St Georges Market. I bought some lovely cards but have given them all out and cant remember her name! She is (or at least was a few weeks ago) in the stall beside the bathrooms. Its pictures and cards that have people drawn almost like stick figures, but are v sweet. Ive a feeling its Emma or Emily something,...but I could be wrong.
Can anyone help me pls? I know its not much to go on!
what do you sell, where abouts will you be at the fair?0 -

Loving the stories!
As many of you prob already know, my Dad does a lot of fairs with me. As lovely and funny as he is, you take your life in your own hands doing anything with him!!! We decided to invest in a gazebo last summer as we were doing a lot of ourdoor markets and boot sales. When we got it home, we agreed that it would be best to have a trial run putting it up and taking it down to make sure we knew how to work it properly. Worst idea EVER! I couldn't get one of the legs to extend, so Joe, my Dad, walked over with no warning, and thumped it with a hammer catching my hand in the process! In the midst of me swearing like a trooper at him, he decided to give said leg a good shove. At which point it flew up out of it's bracket, hit me square between the eyes and left a lovely big red lump! He then just let go of it, and the extending bit that keeps the side straight swung down and hit my forehead and cut me!
Moral of the story..... if you see my Dad setting upat a fair or market and he looks like he needs help..... STAY WELL OUT OF THE WAY!!!0 -

Um yeah, like that's never happened to any of us!!!!!
Just smile sweetly and hope for the best!
At Downpatrick Museum last year the nepalese curry guy turned up insisting he had booked and paid for a table - amazingly we all had 2 tables each (yes 2 at a craft fair, but it was run by a crafter) anyway, I didn't have enough with me to cover 2 tables so I happily gave him one of mine and haven't paid for a bowl of his delicious curry ever since!
See sometimes I can be nice, and sometimes it all works out for the best!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
I was at Downpatrick Museum last year too, didn't see you there
though I was the one looking around blankly lol
