If like me you are in the habit of posting off loads of cheques in advance to secure tables at events and if (also like me) you post date some of these so you're not shelling out a fortune for Christmas fairs in July....THEN....BEWARE!!

I had 3 cheques debited from my account in June which were dated July and August and consequently went into the red. I rang the bank in a panic and was told banks DO NOT CHECK DATES ON CHEQUES and if they are presented they will go through, even if post dated!! Has made me quite scared to send off all my Christmas application forms now as would be out £500 - £600 if everyone cashed them in now!! Think will accompany all future post dated cheques will clear note stating post dated and requesting not to lodge until date of the cheque. Just thought I'd share that with you...!

I have to admit that I never even thought to post date cheques as I just assumed organisers will lodge them straightaway. To be honest the ones that annoy me are the ones that dont lodge them for ages & then the money comes out when you least expect it.

OK, I am !!!!ed!

I pay membership for the craft fairs and events website - about £30 per year - it had died a bit there, but there calendar is now up and running again, but here is why I am cross...

They have copied dates from our list straight onto theirs, I am sure of this because an incorrect email address is the same on theirs as on ours - it just seems very unfair that someone should be trying to make money out of our list!
