NEVER had a joint like this from ASDA during my 25 years of shopping there.
The one I bought on Wednesday had about 100g of fat on it - I know I trimmed it all off - most of which was on the outside and visible before I purchased it - that's on a joint weighing almost 3800g.
Went back and got another one today
Always been happy with the butchery products but it's got even better at our local store since they opened a fresh meat counter with a butcher on hand a few months back.
Knowledgeable and very helpful - will always try and find just the right cut of meat and size we are looking for (or will create one for us on the spot if they can)

i went and got me two today, one for boxing day for df, and one for friends a couple of days later. I am a veggie, so df and 2 year old dd get to eat a whole on boxing day. and perhaps a bit left for cold meat the day after
.
How do you all reccomend i cook it, it must be brown all threw, df won't touch anything pink.
Yes i know roast it!! or could i boil it like a gammmon? but for how to make it brown all though? should i wrap it in foil? should i put water in with it.
usually don't venture beyond a pork chop

just brown in in the frying pan 1st and then wrap in lose in foil yes you can put a bit of water at the bottom of the dish and then in the oven slow roast it0

Don't buy it,last beef i bought from morrisons was tasteless, ans i mean tasted of nothing.Went to the butchers and what a difference, tasty, succulent, juicy and downright beautiful, support your local butcher0

Doesn't seem to be in Scottish stores, no sign of it in my local

Cut it all the way down the middle and stuff with a mushroom, garlic, breadcrumb mixture if you are worried it won't have much flavour, then roll and tie with string.0

There is no Red tractor or any flag on the packs or the Quality standard mark which guartanees its reared in the uk & not just packed in the uk. It does however say produced in the uk ,so not 100% sure if reared here
That'll mean it's not British Beef then. Shame.
If it was British Beef it would clearly say so......0
