**Daily chat Thread Friday 18th December* Do you have Snow?

Pepe, there's a thread on DT about whether people should be paid for having days off when they can't get to work because of snow.
*stirs big wooden spoon*.
tbh, taking into account the number of incompetents around, I would rather people were paid NOT to come to work in non-essential jobs, but where to draw the line?
As I drove through Bourne End, Bucks today, at 0700 in the dark, I had one guy walking IN the road cos there was snow on the path! He waved me to go around him ( in a 40tonne truck !!!!!!) so that he wouldnt have to get back on the path......then an older bloke was driving along on his little motorised scooter with no lights and dark clothing!!! and I only saw him at
the last minute! Probably wouldnt have even noticed hitting him until I stopped....and then who gets chucked in prison for 'causing death by dangerous driving' ?
Whoops, a bit of a rant there...:D

When I went into Leeds earlier it was dead, so if you want to do some xmas shopping without crowds I'd say go for it!
I need to go to the bank and Rocky needs a new 'chewy tunnel' There's just a couple of bits that I still need to get for Christmas too.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

You wouldn't recommend a Segway ride down the M62 then?

I don't like to bother sister in law. She must be stressed enough without people bothering her all the time. She did promise to text me when she knew he was out ok but hopefully has just forgotten.0 -
...amazing! I can get to London in my truck, drive all around Central and North and then round the M25 and along all the icy roads to avoid a closed M40.........and some bunch of whingeing workshies cant get to bloody Heathrow and drive their ****ing buses. Willie Walsh needs to sack a few more!
