Yes, but it's just the fact that they appear to be able to get a printout with your name and address on in this case, and distribute it to the estate agents without your knowledge which is the worrying bit.

In all honesty, i don't think this is the case, maybe IP addresses, but not actual names and addresses, unless they have a way of cross-referencing them with another database, which would required access to your name and address anyway

Maybe your OH has entered his details onto the website in the past?

Although my favourite theory is simply that the colleague caught him looking, either by walking past his screen or by the company network.

Agree with you skintslimmer. His colleague probably saw him browsing either got a bit narked but didn't want to admit he himself was nosing on what your OH was viewing online. So waited for a day and cooked up this idea of the EA passing on the details.

Btw when ads seemed personalised to you it's on sites where you have signed up and given them information about yourself anyway.

Oh how embarrassing for your OH!

What's embarrassing about looking at information published on a public website for the express purpose of being looked at?

Can the OP post a rightmove link?:D

  • I bet what has probably happened is that someone has enquired about property details that happens to have the same name as the OP's OH,
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

It's a windup, I agree with the previous suggestion of making an offer to the EA that's half the asking price.
    Nice to save.

and tell him his wife has already got him some keys cut
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world
  • I agree with Chinkle. He must have been nosing in on your OH and noticed him nosing in on his property. Bit of a catch 22, if he said something then and there it would've been a case of pot-kettle.

    :o)
