Amazon - Unable to meet delivery commitments

I ordered a CD from Amazon (in stock) on Monday 14th at 20:30 on super saver free delivery and my confirmation said estimated despatch date 17/12, estimated delivery date 22nd to 24th Dec.
It just dropped through the letterbox 5 minutes ago.
Then I ordered a calendar (that I couldn't get anywhere else) on Wednesday 16th at 09:20 and the confirmation said estimated despatch date 18/12, estimated delivery date 23nd to 24th Dec - but I've not had confirmation of despatch yet.
It's not really a problem though as it's for me.
I hope eveybody's Christmas present orders come through in time.:xmassmile0 -
I narrowly missed being caught out by Amazon yesterday. I was ordering a CD and one of those powerball things, and all over the website it was saying that the 18th was the last day for xmas delivery on the free super saver option. I even checked whether either of my items were excluded from this and they weren't. But when I got through to the last page it said that the estimated despatch date was 21st for both, but that the CD wouldn't arrive til after xmas
Ordered the CD from HMV instead. I used to love Amazon but their service has definitely slipped over the last couple of years.0 -
I just contacted Amazon again re my box set that was dispatched on the 16th letting them know that it's a Christmas gift and still hasn't arrived and they said normally they would issue a replacement immediately but my box set is now stating "Dispatched within 1-3 weeks". Awesome.0

Spooky - I had the same experience. I have just emailed them to ask for a refund of my postage charge as the orders with free delivery have been delivered more quickly!
I emailed them last night and had a refund notice waiting for me when I got up this morning! Did you have any luck?0 -
Hi all
I have ordered and recieved all but one of my amazon orders
18 items in total across five seperate orders placed across a ten day period
I received two this morning was shocked to see a royal mail van at 8.40am on a sunday but there it was
I am confident there will be a last minute push and all those in the system will arrive
I have always been really pleased with the service I have received"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -
The things i ordered this week for christmas both arrived.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

I took up the option of free next day delivery with a one month trial of Amazon Prime when I ordered my last two presents today. Saved £8.80...
I'm usually very happy with Amazon delivery, but as someone upthread said, I now do a separate order for each item."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

I have ordered lots from Amazon this Christmas and even those orders that said delivery by the 24th, have arrived much earlier.
I had a delivery today also, by a Royal Mail van!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I too had a simular experience this year. Ordered last sat and took up the amazon prime offer. Should have recieved the items by 22nd latest.
Waited in monday, no parcel.
Tues midday I rang and Citylink said no deliveries b/c of weather, fair enough but could have said on their website.
Wedsnesday it will definitely be delivered.
Waited in again all day weds and it never came. I cancelled so many family plans this xmas because of this.
Citylink never posted them and I had to travel all the way to the depo on xmas eve to get my xmas presents.
To make matters even worse, my partner bought me some v.nice GHD's for xmas from amazon, and the security label was ripped. Meaning they've sent me a return or tampered with it. Either way Amazon have totally ruined my xmas 09
I won't be shopping with them again.Debts to date: A&L Loan: Paid Off!, :TMMU:Paid Off!, :T
