Iphone 3g with poor credit?

I have a very poor credit rating and im looking to get a mobile phone on contract as im in the armed forces and its a nightmare using a prepaid phone. Just wondering if I will be able to get this phone with a very poor credit rating? Will I be flatout refused or can I pay a deposit(think I have read that somewhere)?

Thanks if anyone can help.
James

Just curious about the armed forces part, if you are deployed to Afghanistan i was made aware that you are not allowed to take personal mobiles due to known hijacking of the mobile network, and it is a serious offence to take one with you.

If you have a poor rating, getting a contract at all could be difficult. If you can afford it the best route would be to buy the phone outright and go on a PAYG or 1 month rolling Sim Only Contract. The so called deposit would in a way be yourself purchasing the phone upfront.

My credit rating is poor, very poor, I cannot get a credit card or bank overdraft etc. However I was accepted on a Ipopne 3Gs with Orange contract via mobiles.co.uk this week. Phone is here and i am delighted. I went via Quidco and got £40 cashback and i didnt pay a penny, i have a 24mnth contract with them now.
  • I've got a really bad credit rating & managed to get an iphone no problem

  • My hubby also got an iphone, on Orange, at £30 per month for 18 mths via Dialaphone.co.uk.
Was also turned down by O2 and Vodaphone but Orange accepted immediately and it was delivered the next day. He paid nothing for the phone.
We have very questionable credit, but no debts and have been paying for our cars, mortgage and 1 home shopping catalogue with no missed payments for the past 6 yrs.
    Hope this helps someone.
