Hi
O/H laptop doing some weird things -loads (and loads!) of IE windows keep opening. I've done a Malware Bytes scan and nothing was reported.
Avast is unable to scan all folders. It's on Vista. I got rid of Zone Alarm and installed PC Tools Firewall + - it seems to be from then that the problems have started - although I think I saw something to do with Java pop up - but was gone before I could read it.

I'm not that PC savvy so please be gentle.

Any help would be appreciated.

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)

O2 - BHO: Browser Address Error Redirector - {CA6319C0-31B7-401E-A518-A07C3DB8F777} - C:\Program Files\BAE\BAE.dll remove this to boost IE. only on a DELL, look in the add/remove section for uninstallation.

Other suggestions Stop using Internet explorer, and use Firefox.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe" java can be stopped from running at boot time

    O4 - Global Startup: QuickSet.lnk = ?
    O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Reader Speed Launch.lnk = C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\reader_sl.exe can be disabled

Options due to the fact you have a dell laptop, which i have repair a few off, you could use the dell recovery to take it back to factory fresh, and reinstall your programs from there.

I performed an auto-analyze on http://www.hijackthis.de/, which didn't come up with anything suspicious, then tried http://hjt.networktechs.com, which found the following suspicious (the text after each item being their summary of the issue):

We suggest you upgrade to the latest version of HijackThis (version 1.99.1") at www.merijn.org

    What is it?
The general concensus on the net is that aolsoftware.exe belongs to a legitimate 3rd party application from AOL, however there may be a virus infection related to aolsoftware.exe
    What does it do?
aolsoftware.exe may be an infected file associated with the internet worm SDBOT.COV
The worm targets the registry to ensure that the code is executed each time windows loads. WORM_SDBOT.COV may also be associated with the startpage-IH virus.
    More info and removal:
here is info at trendmicro.com regarding worm_sdbot.cov

Please open malwarebytes, goto LOGS and post the WHOLE of the log. Then ~

    Please run COMBOFIX

    Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be)

If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download
