Can anyone help & advise please??
My Dad took a phone call around the end of October this year from an insurance broker saying that his insurance was up for renewal and they could do a better deal. He said ok and went ahead. However he already has a policy with another company that was renewed back in July this year.
Hows this happened you ask??? Well I still live at home and I don't just have the family name but my dads chrsitian name is my middle name (keeping it in the family!) It transpires they've called on the back of an internet quote...he's can only just about use his mobile and the internet quote is mine as my policy does expire in November!
I understand insurance brokers don't access the MID plus it doesn't seem unlawful to have 2 policies and it was offered and taken 'in good faith' but they've made there call on the back of my quote and what would have been completly different data i.e. my dads is a commercial vehicle and mine is for domestic use only - plus he's 60+ over twice my age!!
I want to get this policy cancelled with a complete refund, not leaving my dad out of pocket. I understand its a mistake but in my opinion the advisor calling from the insurance company hasn't been completing 'honest'
Please help, thank you
