Fixtures and Fittings

Hi all,
I've received a form from my conveyancer about the purchase. One of the fields in the form 'fixtures and fittings'. We've put down things like curtains, blinds, wardrobe, dishwasher light fittings, cupboards which were agreed with the vendor.
My wife suggested we note down things like carpets and kitchen units built in cooker as well etc. Is this a little excessive? I would have thought that things like carpets would be standard as well as fitted kitchen units and the like?
She seems like a nice lady and not someone who's going to rip us off.
Thanks.

The vendor should be filling out a form herself which details everything including carpets, cookers etc which you will double check to see if it tallies with what you've agreed.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Carpets and all white goods most definitely need to be included, this document is there so there are no misunderstandings. It's within my lifetime that carpets were taken as standard, now it is more common to leave them.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

If in doubt, put it on the list!
Once you move in and find the carpet/dishwasher/whatever is not there, it's gonna be hard enough to do anything about it.
And impossible unless it's clearly written down and agreed.0 -
Why on Earth would someone take carpets? Surely they most likely won't fit at new in a new property.
The hob and cooker are built into the kitchen units, so there's no point in mentioning those is it?0 -
Specifically watch out for those....

There is every point in mentioning. Why on Earth would someone take carpets? Surely they most likely won't fit at new in a new property.

Definitely, definitely mention everything! There's absolutely no harm in doing so but could be a real pain if you don't. All you risk is five minutes of your time with a biro.0

Someone who is downsizing might well take carpets that could be cut to fit a new property.
It takes seconds to write 'hob and cooker' and could save a good deal of pain.0 -
In the bad old days before PVCu D/G you could buy plastic or aluminium framed single glazed units to fix to existing single glazed windows, thus giving a form of D/G. Agreed to buy house and was asked did I want to buy these "units" at extra cost, which I also agreed.
Said I would pay by cheque when we moved in. Upon arrival vendors were getting a bit huffy threatening to remove units if I didn't pay up immediately (which I fully intended to).
Often wonder what would have happened if I said "stuff it" and they would have to remove about 6 units of different size/construction, which undoubtedly wouldn't have fitted windows of their new house. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

There was someone posting not long ago that their vendor wanted to charge them for the carpets or she was taking them with her, even tho they wouldn't fit.
Put everything that is removable on the list - better safe than sorry!!0
