Co-op won'y give you a savings account. I think they will consider you once the BR has dropped off your files.

The day I opened my Co Op cashminder (1 week before BR which they knew was going to happen) they opened me an ISA savings account. About 2 weeks after BR I received notice they were closing the ISA so I gave them a ring and they apologised and opened me another ISA account!!

Yorkshire building society kept my online saver account open after BR and Nationwide downgraded my flexaccount to a cashminder account which I can still use internet banking for, just no debit card facility but useful for putting money by for bills etc.

  • I am undischarged and don't think there is a problem with having a savings account. I got 1 with the YBS and am putting my monthly allowance's for things like car mot/servicing etc in it. Also if you did have some surplus you can put it away in te savings account for a rainy day.

not usually UNLESS they think something is untoward they would then ask to see all accounts

    Hi ian_h

I had the same letter from YBS too. I rang to query but they will not be allowing online banking until we are discharged.

Can still use Nationwide though with no problems and they are upgrading all cashcards to debit cards later this year.
