Savings Accounts

If and it’s a very big if – (in fact it's extremely unlikely) but if I have any surplus income during B/R

Will our bankruptcy friendly banks (Barclays and the Coop) open a savings account for me?

  • Apparently as bankrupts we are not supposed to be able to afford to save! I was under the impression we were not allowed saving accounts, however when I went into my local barclays bank to assist my 14 year old in opening an account they asked if I had an account (which I do, however I use co-op more) they offered me the savings account. I didn't like to say I am BR, are you sure I can, in the middle of the branch so I let her apply for it, and 6 months ish down the line I still have it and can transfer between current and savings account online.
  • Try these...they give discharged and undischarged savings account..

co-op wouldn't give me a savings account while un-discharged, haven't tried since though.

Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.
