All,
I work for a company that has been mentioned several times on this forum. The customer experience being related on the post was negative and so I joined the forum to offer myself, as a senior manager, as a point of contact for customers and to try to resolve their grievances.
My username was promptly blocked for "advertising". CHR15 then advised that I should inform Money Saving Expert and get permission to post as I represent a company. Which I duely did.
I received an email from the companypermission at moneysavingexpert team who advised that I could not post because I was not a "large company, or mentioned in our guide" - When I queried the definition of a large company or asked how to appear in the guide , I was told "It's at our discretion which companies we allow to post on the forums. Generally we allow companies who are household names to post on the forum."
Now, I'm not for one minute suggesting that these large companies pay advertising to be featured on Money Saving Expert:money: but... I do think it an immense waste of everyone's time if the forum is a one-way street. What is the point of consumers ganging together to complain and then not allowing the companies the ability to explain, offer a point of contact and provide a resolution? Surely, it must be better to keep the enemy close, and invite them to defend their policy?
It's obvious that some companies join these forums under a personal guise in an attempt to fool consumers by promoting the amazing service that XYZloan broker provided for only £69.99. Surely that is the type of behaviour any moderators should be focussed on stamping out?
I would be interetsed to hear your opinions...

Free speech????
This is a privatly owned forum by an individual, they have the right to run it exactly how they like. If you don't like that then tough... maybe if you got a job at a respectable company rather than a company who preys on the vulnerable then you would be more welcome. This website is about getting people to make the right choices in finance not advertising sub prime lenders who charge the earth to people who cannot really afford the debt in the first place.0 -
Not doubting for one second, that the individual who owns this forum can do exactly what he pleases. Of course, he can.
I was just trying to point out that it would be a lot more beneficial to consumers if companies were permitted the right of reply to offer their side of the story.
Michael1983l , thanks for the career advice but I am quite happy where I am thanks. I find it interesting that you feel in a position to offer others an opinion about companies without the faintest idea of policy, criteria, repayments etc.0 -
Hi,
We have a strict no advertising policy on the forums and unfortunately your posts broke these rules. However as you were advised before we're happy to post on the forum on your behalf with details of how the user can get help or resolve the situation.
Thanks

I have a perfect Idea as I know which company you work for, I also have read personal accounts of individuals who have used your company and lets say it doesn't make good reading on your part.0 -
So putting the cloak and dagger carp to one side - what is the name of your company please?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Can I suggest telephone, email or website submission forms?
I have no idea what company you are, so I don't know if any of the complaints here were about their attempts using such methods.
Your apparent philosophy that the process might involve enmity really is not promising.0 -
