    Hi There

I have just come back from a week in Portugal...and NO SYMPTOMS whatsoever! Yet I constantly want to scratch my eyes out every day here in the UK and feel I have a permanent cold! I only strated to get hayfever 3 years ago, I am now 29 and it seems to have gotten worse each year since then!.
Unfortunately though...I AM PREGNANT and my Doctor says I can't take anything! DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY HOME REMEDIES OR ANYTHING SIMILAR FOR PREGNANT WOMEN WITH HAYFEVER??
    Many Thanks, Kat.
Yes -An optician told me to try just a bit less than half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in a cupful of boiling water. Stir with sterilized spoon. Leave to cool. Dab eyes with mixture. I was very surprised that it works for itchy eyes and itchy skin too.

    And it's around 60p - 70p for a tub, which lasts around a year.

One small moan is the cost of shipping - mine came to £4.23, actual postage was 68p and the cost of the jiffy bag must have taken up the balance.

    CHEMIST-4-U - Proceed with caution........

I placed an urgent order on 22nd June at chemist-4-u and was charged
£ 6.52 for FIRST CLASS MAIL DELIVERY. Tablets only arrived today 26th June posted by SECOND CLASS MAIL with marked postage cost of just £ 1.78.

Apparent low checkout prices subsidised by postage charges way in excess of actual amounts and second class service when paid for first!!!!!!!

A mail has been sent to Mr.Patel querying this policy and will update if/when a reply/refund is forthcoming.......

Further to the above quotes (and several others in a similar vein) I received my tablets today.

I was charged £6.58 postage while the actual cost of postage was 75p.

Even bearing in mind the cost of a (thin) mailing bag, this is postage inflation to such an audacious extent that I've decided to smile and applaud them rather than be outraged at their shamelessness! :)

Just wanted to say that I recieved my order yesterday from chemist-4-u and I am very happy. I have enough tablets to last me the rest of the summer and start of next year.

2nd Class posted 26th ordered 21th. A great value service.

Not a frequent poster here as you will see but I just thought I would let you all know about my Hayfever problems.

As far as I can remember it normally starts around middle of May and continues until end of August but sometimes into September (I think. I don't count the days, I normally just get on with it). Been suffering since I was about 13/14 (8 years now)

Anyhoo...I would normally take Clarityn or any Cetirizine/Loratadine based products (whichever was cheapest) and start taking them a few weeks before it got really bad so at least there would be something in my system to begin helping me breath properly. My mum had bought Sainsburys own hayfever tablets (Cetirizine?) and got about 120 for the same price she would have paid through a prescription so I thought I would save my own money and use what she had left. Along with this I would also be using nasal sprays, eye drops etc. but even though they are cheaper, they don't seem to help the problem.

I'm 22. I needed inhalers when I was about 15 because I was diagnosed with mild asthma but I didn't know if that was due to the hayfever or whether I actually did have mild asthma. Saying that though, I've never used an inhaler since...until last week where my chest was so tight and I was wheezing uncontrollaby that I could hardly breathe. Fact. Went to the doctors to see if I could get the same inhalers I used back then but instead of doing that she gave me stronger anti-histamine tablets called Fexofenadine Hydrochloride (and because I paid for them through my prescription, I got 60 instead of 30 for my £6.65). I think this was because I hadn't needed them for 7 years. Either that or they're dearer.

Now, I don't know if you can get these tablets cheaper elsewhere than by a prescription but you probably can but so far they seem to be working and I can at least breathe properly now.

I'm only 4 tablets into a pack of 60 but after these tablets are finished, if they haven't worked any better than what I was on before, I might just give that Yamoa stuff a try. Nothing to lose really.

    This works for me:
    - when you have an attack, snort water from the palm of your hand, then have a good blow.
    - buy an ioniser, with a filter and fan - Amcon or Mountain Breeze - to remove pollen indoors: I have mine on at home and in the office

This deals with the problem most of the day

I received my loratadine tabs today (4 x 30) with postage came to £8.31.

I thought the postage a little high for the packaging - but then again, not complaining too hard as buying from Boots would have cost me double.

So thanks for the post :) Dh now taken first one .... will be watching with interest to see if he survives ;)
