HDNL drivers are under incredible pressure to get increasing numbers of deliveries completed in a day. Their drivers have warned them time and again that something would have to give.

true, we start at 9am and some dont get back till 8 at night!

That's a really late start. Out of interest, is that your choice or do HDNL not let you start until then?

thats them not us, they want us to start later so they can get another trailer delivery, hence more parcels out for delivery, we used to start at 7, then 8, then last year it went to 9, a few drivers have left because of it and i know how they feel.

I hate starting late. I've got no problem with doing 12 hours (or more when needed), but I do like to be out of the depot by 6.30am if I can. At least if you go in early you can be prepared for any problems. I can see why HDNL are getting such a bad rep when they are expecting drivers to deliver 100+ parcels, but not letting them get started early.

start at 9, usually finished loading the van and get booked out 10-ish, ive got over 100 parcel to deliver and cover over 120 mile, its non-stop.

DHL will wish they never let HDNL taken them over :rotfl:

From what I've just read, DHL actually paid HDNL £200M to take the business off their hands.

    Good luck!!

yeah i heard that rumour, HDNL are supposed to be in serious trouble, hence no wage rise (for drivers) for 3 years, however we all have brand new 59 plate sprinters and buy out another "competitor".

if HDNL didnt have the catalogue stuff they'd have sank years ago!

I think HDNL are the cheapest courier and that's why so many companies use them. I think it's a case of getting what you pay for.

I dont know if youre aware but Littlewoods owns HDN

Nope. Very much seperate companies. Both owned by the Barclay Brothers, but you would barely believe it sometimes as it does feel like thye try to shaft us and its us who look like fools for thier mistakes as we are the only human contact with the customers. Same is true for a lot of our clients. We are made to look rubbish for thier mistakes.
